Eat at The Finnygook

The Finny chefs source local & sustainable produce

All dishes at The Finnygook are properly home made by our skilled chefs – trying not to over-complicate things. You’ll know what everything is – we let the flavours and freshness of the produce talk for themselves. You’ll find classic pub meals intertwined with more innovative dishes. At the Finny we work hard on ensuring there’s something for everyone on our menu.

The main ethos of head chef Neil’s food is to source as locally and sustainably as possible – meat is supplied by R & J Trevarthen in Penryn – they graze their beef cattle on their own farm and have their own abattoir in Roskrow Penryn. Seafood is supplied by Rob & Kim at RG Seafoods, from local day boats wherever possible. We also have a “first buyers license” enabling us to buy direct from local boats which is where we purchase our Whitsand Bay lobster in season. Organic salad leaf and other seasonal veg is supplied by Mark Simon at Trevalon near Liskeard. Root vegeatables and potatoes are grown in the fields around the pub by Hay Farm Produce who farm the Antony estate and all other veg and Cornish dairy produce come from West Country Fruit & Veg in St Austell.

We are proud to support small, local businesses and reduce food mileage wherever possible, reducing our impact on the environment and giving back to the local community.
